Overview

The Sentry II Wire Maintenance Plan gives you the flexibility to quickly identify and diagnose service issues with your telephone equipment-whether you purchased your equipment from Verizon or another vendor. Available to customers with single and multiline telephone equipment for a small monthly charge.

  • Offers diagnostic testing to determine the source of the problem with your telephone equipment or inside wiring.
  • Includes cooperative testing with your other vendors to resolve conditions affecting your service at no additional charge.
  • Wire maintenance does not include the repair or replacement of telephone sets or other telephone equipment at your premises. Pricing is on a per-line basis. Service call and labor charges will apply if the trouble is caused by your telephone set(s) or equipment.

    Inside wire maintenance may not be your responsibility if you lease your business space. Contact your landlord or property manager to determine who is responsible.

    Pre-existing conditions and problems with your inside wiring or telephone jacks are not covered within this plan. If you do not have a maintenance plan, you may make your own repairs, hire someone else to repair the wiring, or hire Verizon. Labor and materials charges will apply for each service call.

    The Inside Wire Maintenance Plan does not provide for any direct repair work on any equipment other than the customers' inside wire and jacks on their premises.

    This service may not be available in all areas. A waiting period applies from the order date to the terms of the plan's effective date.     Inside Wire Maintenance Plan does not cover:

  • Key telephone systems
  • Multiline telephone equipment
  • PBX systems
  • Channel services
  • Coin-operated telephone services
  • Wire larger than 8-pair
  • Pre-existing conditions
  • Misuse, abuse, riot, acts of war, fire, and acts of nature
  • Nonstandard wire and jacks that do not comply with Part 68 of FCC rules and/or Verizon's technical standards
  • Malfunctions resulting from use of voice grade lines to transmit or receive data or signals beyond the operating parameters of the line
  • Restoration of premises if asked to repair concealed wire
  • Customer-provided equipment (CPE)
  • Inside telephone wiring, jacks, or other items used in connection with the telephone exchange of a provider other than Verizon
  • Repair or replacement of telephone sets or equipment
